ESIS Emergency Information System

On occasion of the World Alpine Ski Championships, held in St. Anton in 2001, the District Government of Landeck instructed ASI Tirol to create an Internet-based Safety Management Information Platform and made accessible to all involved organizations. This solution was then developed into the innovative Emergency Information System (ESIS).

The ESIS System enables all involved organizations to communicate on a temporary asynchronous and geographically independent Intranet Platform. The layout of ESIS can easily be individualized to meet the personal needs and requirements of each client.

Implementing ESIS does not only involve the mere technology - what's more, our extensive know-how in the fields of disaster communication and crisis management is embedded in the implementation as well.

Custom Developed Solutions & Clients:
Safety Management during the World Alpine Ski Championships, held in St. Anton in 2001 / District Government of Landeck
Avalanche Commission Intranet / Communities in the District of Landeck
Outdoor Sports Platform / Outdoor Project Group
IFKIS-MIS / Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF)

The Emergency Information System is based upon the SixCMS Content Management System. This innovative system allows customers to easily enter, edit and manage informational contents to a website. ASI Tirol has established close ties with the TIScover Webfactory to work on CMS Hosting and CMS Implementation.

Target Groups:
Local Authorities, Regions, Countries
Organizations (Rescue Organizations, NGOs, Regional Managements, ...)
Companies (especially those working in various locations and employing field representatives)

ESIS can easily be extended and rounded out by Call Center Services.

Examples:
SULIS - Road.Snow.Avalanche.Info - Communities in the District of Landeck (Public Access)
ASI-Tirol Intranet for local Avalanche Commissions
(Passwortgeschützt Intranet)
ASI-Tirol Outdoor Platform - (Public Access)

During the World Alpine Ski Championships, held in St. Anton in 2001, ASI Tirol established an Emergency Hotline staffed by a highly trained information team. Four Remote WinSet workplaces were installed at the Office of ASI Tirol in Landeck. Another WinSet workplace was set up at the Official Emergency Center in St. Anton. Additional 50 Call Center workplaces were operated on a stand-by basis in the Tyrolese capital of Innsbruck.

This Emergency Hotline Service is made available to Local Authorities, Organizations and Companies in combination with the ESIS Emergency Information System. To this end ASI Tirol has entered into an alliance with Heinz Brunner of CLC (Integrated Customer Care Solutions).

SixCMS Content Management System

ASI Tirol is a Marketing and Implementation Partner of the SixCMS Content Management System. Our ESIS Emergency Information System is based upon the SixCMS technology. This system easily supports the most complex website structures and workflow processes required from a state-of-the-art crisis communication management tool.

SixCMS is based upon open-source components and technology (Apache Web Server running on Unix or Linux, and MySQL database). Almost any HTML editor can be used to generate HTML code for the templates, which can then be introduced into the system with cut-and-paste or upload functions. SixCMS also provides for direct text editing. All MIME-compliant file formats can be uploaded and managed by the media database.

SixCMS allows organizations the ability to easily manage all of their online content. Administrators and authors are easily able to handle the system which is simply adaptable to a company's individual on-line publishing process. Furthermore, and critical to the success of any CMS, the "time to market" for SixCMS 4.0 is particularly rapid.
