Avalanche Commissions in the District of Landeck

This Project Group is staffed by representatives of avalanche commissions in the district of Landeck, involved emergency squads, local communities and the district government of Landeck. The Group is responsible for coordinating the Project Work.

Project Targets:
To enhance the flow of useful and relevant safety information between the
   District's Avalanche Commissions
To optimize the exchange among all affected organizations
To implement a variety of appropriate information channels
To enhance the meteorological information made available to the decision-makers
To cooperate with the Avalanche Warning Service, ZAMG (Central Institute for
   Meteorology and Geodynamics), TIRIS (Tyrolese Zoning Information System) and the
   torrent and avalanche defense works

Tangible Results of this Project Work:
For the first time in the Alpine Area the avalanche commissions in the District
   of Landeck are enabled to communicate with each other on the network via an
  Intranet Platform.
This innovative solution is currently implemented in the Davos-Klosters Region in a
   pilot project run by the Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research (SLF).
In cooperation with ZAMG (Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics),
   the local avalanche commissions are provided with the latest meteorological
   information in the Intranet.

Outdoor

The Outdoor Project Group is staffed by representatives of Outdoor Companies in the Tyrol Oberland Region, members of involved emergency squads (water rescue, mountain rescue, …) and white water enthusiasts.

Project Targets:
To enhance the flow of useful and relevant safety information between
   the Outdoor Companies in the Tyrol Oberland Region
To optimize the exchange among all affected organizations
To create digital deployment plans for this Area
To implement new Information Structures
To establish close ties with the Hydrographic Service and with the
   Road & Sports Department of the Province of Tyrol
